I am inspired by the complexity of the body and enjoy nothing better then tracking the root of a persons pain and helping in its resolution. After years of experience in this dynamic trade of massage, I am continually compelled to reach out to my clients and be a part of their healing.
After completing the massage therapy program at East West College of the Healing Arts in 2002, I realized the infinite possibilities of bodywork. My training there consisted of Swedish and Deep Tissue massage while incorporating many Asian modalities and education in meridian patterns. I later traveled through South East Asia for several months studying the various healing practices of that region. Since then I have developed a massage practice using trigger point massage, deep tissue, myofacial techniques and eastern modalities simultaneously. I enjoy working on pain specific treatments and car accident recovery. I believe this fusion of techniques creates a potent opportunity for healing.
I have worked collectively for years in Portland with chiropractors and acupuncturists who have provided me the opportunity to work with many different car accident cases, back injuries and repetitive stress injuries. This exposure has been invaluable and is currently a large portion of my practice.
Prior to pursuing massage therapy I trained as a birth doula and love working in this setting. Since returning to the states, I have trained in obstetrical massage on site at Oregon Health Science University and volunteered my services there on the labor and delivery unit. I offer both pregnancy and postpartum sessions at my studio.
This work as a massage therapist is both technical and intuitive and one that I am honored to participate in.

I am continuously learning from and playing with the plasticity inherent
in our bodies. Bodywork is my passion. I followed the path of yoga asana and
philosophy, first as student then as a teacher, to the doorway of massage therapy.
As a massage therapist I am extremely passionate about working holistically,
combining the appropriate techniques to bring the body into a deep state of
parasympathetic relaxion while also accomplishing lasting structural change.
I completed my Massage training at the Pacific Center of Awareness and
Bodywork under Lee Joseph. There I fell in love with the work of Ida Rolf and
completed training in the Structural Integration Series that is the basis for the
Bodywork called Rolfing. Rolfing realigns and balances the body's myofascial
structure by working to free the adhesions in the body's connective tissue. I have
found this work to be incredibly effective for treating chronic pain, misalignment,
injury and physical and emotional stress. It is also a wonderful tool for increasing
range of motion, grace and flexibility. It is work that by its very nature meets the
client where they are and lets them open at their own pace, the work can be deep or
light depending on what is needed and what the client is ready for. I often integrate
Craniosacral, Swedish relaxation and deep tissue massage and somatic yoga work
with the deeper structural connective tissue therapy work.
I believe that everyone has the potential to unwind into the blueprint of grace and
beauty that they were born with. I am just here to support the unwinding. Right now
I am particularly excited about the Somatic Yoga practices of one of my Teachers,
Risa Kaparo, who emphasizes the necessity of full body breathing to unwind old
patterns, create space in the body and let ourselves float in gravity.
Other Practitioner's who's work has touched me in the form of workshops and
trainings include, Emily Conrad the founder of the Continuum movement therapy,
BKS Iyengar of Iyengar Yoga, Yamuna's Body Logic and Body Rolling work and
Sally Klemm's unique combination of Rolfing and Craniosacral work. I am also very
interested and engaged in women's health, prenatal and postnatal care and Holistic
Pelvic Care and will be completing a training under Tami Kent in the next month.
I love to encourage the dynamic potential for healing and change that is always
bubbling to the surface in each one of us, no matter if we are aware of it or not.
My goal is to give each client the tools to become independent, embodied and self
aware. I look forward to meeting you.
